Born and raised in London and the English countryside, Stella McCartney graduated from Central St. Martins in 1995. A signature style of sharp tailoring, natural confidence and sexy femininity was immediately apparent in her debut fashion collection. In 1997, after only two collections, she was appointed the Creative Director of Chloe in Paris and enjoyed great success during her tenure.
Stella McCartney launched her own fashion house under her name in a partnership with Kering and showed her first collection in Paris in October 2001. Stella McCartney's commitment to sustainability is evident throughout her collections and is part of the brand's ethos to being a responsible, honest and modern company. A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs.
Stella McCartney's achievement in fashion and social awareness has been recognized on numerous occasions, ranging from Best International Designer of the Year to the Order of the British Empire, an award for excellence and service in the fashion industry. An exclusive costume designer for tours by Madonna and Annie Lennox, and a collaborator with cult cartoonist Robert Crumb, Stella McCartney is a world-renowned artist, always in demand.
In 2008, a new lingerie collection of aspirational styles was launched, reflecting the modern woman's needs. The Stella McCartney lingerie collection includes bodysuits, chemises, camisole tops and shorts. Each collection is full of naturally sexy, confident and modern designs, with exquisite attention to detail and fit. Pieces are made to be mixed and matched, feminine details are designed to be seen and silhouettes are playful and sexy.HIDE DESIGNER TEXT
