MARIE FRANCE VAN DAMME
Marie France Van Damme pioneered the Orient in the early 1980s when she relocated to Hong Kong to start her manufacturing company specializing in women’s wear. Born in Montreal, Canada, Marie France attended a university studying business administration until a strike at the school lead Marie France to occupy her free time with an internship at a leading women’s apparel brand. This brief interaction with the fashion industry quickly changed her path. She moved to New York to head up one of the first private label businesses working with top department stores including Macy’s and Lord and Taylor.
While traveling back and forth from New York to the Orient, Marie France Van Damme fell in love with her husband and relocated to Hong Kong to start her manufacturing company. There, she developed and manufactured ready-to-wear products for European retailers such as La Redoute-Redcats, Monoprix, Marks & Spencer, and Saks Fifth Ave.
Throughout her years of travel, Marie France identified a demand in the market for a chic, stylish and complete resort wear collection. With over thirty years of experience in the fashion industry, Marie France Van Damme has at last created a self-inspired, self-titled line, influenced by her travels, lifestyle and personal style.
The Marie France Van Damme luxury collection, which launched in the summer of 2011, is defined by its versatility with every piece designed to be worn from an afternoon at the beach to an evening out, and each silhouette is carefully considered so pieces are wearable yet alluring.
