Nearly 150 years of tradition, love of craftsmanship and the desire for creative innovations are the ingredients that make up the success story of Escora lingerie. The Escora corset factory was established in Coburg, Germany, in August of 1862 by Elias Schmidt, who at the time produced designs for the local nobility. Due to his commitment and inventive talent, the company earned a high degree of prestige within a short time. Soon, a number of innovative designs were added to the product range which were very well received by the local community. In 1883, Schmidt's son and son-in-law took over management of the company and continued the tradition of commitment and innovation.
Escora thrived as solely a Schmidt family tradition until 1995, when Austrian fashion designer Monika Rieker took over the company. With a great sense of the history of Escora, and new, fresh ideas, she expanded the product range to include luxurious sleepwear and, in the spirit of its founder, infused the company with new vitality.
In 2009, Rieker passed on management to her daughter Birgit Rieker-Jongen. A creative and sensitive reworking of the brand image, as well as an expansion of the range, attest to the firm's connection with the time-tested Escora concept: family tradition, quality consciousness and an inventive spirit.
Today, women all over the world are inspired by Escora and are thrilled by the flattering creations and comfort of the pieces. The company's motto is as modern today as it once was: "Escora - the key to beauty."HIDE DESIGNER TEXT
